I've only ever played this game through means that shall not be mentioned, but I'd snap it up if it were on GOG or even Steam legitimately.
One of the rare Star Trek games that crossed the line into mainstream appeal rather being just for us Trekkies. The fact its basically lost to time is sad, and puts the license owner in an incredibly poor light.

I would suggest that those who would like to play this, do not hold your breath too much for a realease on GOG. I'm pretty certain some of the rights to many Star Trek games might cost too much for the small amount of us Trekkies that would buy these Star Trek games. <br /> <br />I've just recently purchased the boxed version of this game, and with a few very easy steps, like installing a patch and no-cd (cd copy protection from those years doesn't work anymore), the game runs fabulous on Windows 10, no major work needed. <br /> <br />There is even a graphical overhaul mod to bring it to some much more recent standards graphics-wise. <br /> <br />I've decided, I'd build a nice big boxed collection of these older Star Trek games!

An adventure on the Voyager space ship
Star Trek: Voyager – Elite Force is a first-person shooter set in the fascinating Star Trek universe and it presents an interesting story revolving around an attack on the famous Voyager ship. You get to play as Ensign Alex Munro, who must fight his way through hordes of enemies and get to the bottom of the mystery, as well as protect the ship while the crew attempts to repair various systems in order to get it running again.
Although the game is largely a classic shooter, meaning that you get to collect better and better weapons as you move through the levels and the levels themselves are very linear, the Star Trek lore can always make matters more interesting. In addition, the setting is very intriguing in itself, since you are basically somewhere in space, fighting off aliens and various other dangerous creatures.
Helpful NPCs aid you in battle
Another aspect that differentiates the title from regular FPS games is the fact that you are almost always joined by a few other NPCs, who do their best to help you defeat the enemies ahead. Moreover, a lot of effort went into assuring that there characters are actually helpful, rather than just go along as you have to shoot everything by yourself.
As far as the technical aspect is concerned, the game uses the legendary id Tech 3 engine, which was made famous by Quake 3 Arena. Thanks to this, the graphic quality is definitely satisfying, although it may not impress that much this day and age. In addition, the level design received a lot of attention and the environments definitely bring back memories from the show itself.
A successful shooter with a good story
In the end, as difficult as it may have been, Star Trek: Voyager – Elite Force was appreciated by the fans of the TV show and it managed to keep the atmosphere intact along the way. Moreover, the intricate story and the exquisite level design greatly contributed to the overall quality of the game.
